Living Faithfully

Aug 9, 2026    Anthony Achée

How should Christians respond when they are criticized, misunderstood, or treated unfairly?

In this sermon from 1 Peter 3:8–22, Pastor Anthony Achée explains how believers can display Christlike love and steadfast hope even in suffering. Rather than repaying evil with evil, followers of Jesus are called to pursue peace, bless those who oppose them, and explain their hope with gentleness and respect.

This message focuses on three truths:

Pursue Peace Persistently (vv. 8–12)

Respond Reverently in Suffering (vv. 13–17)

Find Victory Through Christ’s Suffering (vv. 18–22)

Our confidence rests in Jesus Christ—the righteous One who suffered for the unrighteous to bring us to God. Because He rose from the dead and now reigns over every authority and power, we can face opposition without fear and allow our lives to become a faithful witness to the world.

Big Idea: Believers are called to display Christlike love and steadfast hope, even in suffering, as a witness to the world.
