Stand Firm
How can Christians stand firm when suffering reveals the limits of their strength?
In this sermon from 1 Peter 5:1–11, Pastor Anthony Achée explains how God strengthens His church through faithful leadership, mutual humility, and steadfast faith. Believers are not called to endure difficult seasons alone. God provides shepherds who lead by example, a church family that cares for one another, and His restoring grace to sustain His people.
This message focuses on three truths:
Start with Shepherds (vv. 1–4)
Submit with Humility (vv. 5–7)
Stand Firm in Faith (vv. 8–11)
Although suffering is real and the enemy seeks to weaken our faith, believers can remain watchful and resist him with confidence. The God of all grace promises that after we have suffered a little while, He will personally restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish us.
Big Idea: Christians stand firm through suffering by humbly caring for one another and trusting God’s restoring grace.
