The Sound of the Alarm

How should we respond when God sounds an alarm in our lives?

In this sermon from Joel 2:1–17, Pastor Anthony Achée explains how God’s warning of coming judgment becomes a merciful invitation for His people to return. Rather than responding with panic or delay, God calls His people to awaken, submit to His authority, repent wholeheartedly, and seek Him together.

This message focuses on four truths:

Awaken to Warning (vv. 1–5)

Acknowledge God’s Authority (vv. 6–11)

Authentic Heart Repentance (vv. 12–14)

Assemble for Communal Change (vv. 15–17)

God’s warnings are not intended merely to frighten us. They awaken us before destruction becomes irreversible and invite us to return to the God who is gracious, merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love. Through Jesus Christ, the way back to the Father has been opened, and those who repent can receive forgiveness and restoration.
